A woman has been hospitalised after a collision in Dudley last night (9 October) involving a suspected stolen car.
The incident occurred at around 11.15pm on Withymoor Road, when a Mercedes, believed to have been stolen, failed to stop for officers during a police attempt to halt the vehicle. The Mercedes then collided with a Chevrolet Captiva.
The woman, who was travelling in one of the vehicles, was taken to hospital where she remains in serious condition.
The driver of the Mercedes was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug driving and was also taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
As is standard procedure, the matter has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) for review.
