A total of 35 drivers were dealt with for various traffic offences during a successful targeted road safety operation in Lye, Dudley, police have confirmed.
The operation, led by the Lye and Amblecote Neighbourhood Team in collaboration with the Traffic Unit, formed part of the ongoing Multi-Agency Road Operation (MARSO). The initiative brought together officers from West Midlands Police, the DVLA, Dudley Council, and the Motor Insurance Bureau to tackle unsafe driving practices and improve road safety.
Offences reported included speeding, the use of vehicles with excessively tinted windows, insecure loads, driving without insurance, and dangerous vehicle conditions. During the operation, four vehicles were seized, and one individual was arrested for immigration offences.
The operation is part of *Operation Triton*, a wider initiative dedicated to reducing dangerous driving and enhancing safety on local roads. West Midlands Police stated their commitment to working with communities and partner agencies to create safer roads and deter criminal activity linked to the road network.
“Your safety is our number one priority,” a spokesperson for the police stated, emphasising their goal of reducing fatalities and serious injuries on the roads through regular enforcement and education efforts.
Residents are encouraged to report dangerous driving to support ongoing road safety efforts in the region.
